Well, actually, probably not since they wouldn't push nearly the volume of cards through that they do now. But they definitely push through a lot of cards at this point as evidenced by the 4 I got this morning (incidentally, to three different variations of my email address… glad I stuck those things in /etc/postfix/aliases 🙂

What the heck is up with the weather? Yesterday afternoon it was 85 with a heat index of near 90. When I went to class this morning it was 48 but felt like 38 according to weather.com and it was raining.

Gah, I hate North Carolina weather sometimes.

All of my machines are finally running Red Hat Linux 7.1. I also mucked around with cipe and got it nice and happy. Then, instead of installing Ximian GNOME 1.4, I noticed that rawhide had GNOME 1.4 in it and upgraded my laptop to GNOME 1.4. I can't really tell a difference. hrmm. Then again, I guess I did already have a version of nautilus so I shouldn't have expected any major changes probably.

Tomorrow will have more work on the openafs spec file… I just couldn't bring myself to do any “real work” tonight.

Sleep time.

Paper's done, well at least it's done modulo editing which I shouldn't do at this point anyway. So now to sleep for a bit and then I can edit it tomorrow either before or after lunch depending on how alert I am when I get up in the morning.

Oh, and I need to remember to add the list of Works Consulted. But that can happen after I sleep.

I keep getting this feeling that I could really get this paper done a lot faster if I could just concentrate on writing it and getting it done, but I just keep starting then getting distracted and stopping and then starting back. I mean, I wrote a bit about a third of the paper in an hour. But, I've been poking at it all evening and am still only about two-thirds done.

Another weekend over. Only two more weeks of classes and this week really should be the worst of the two.

Friday night I didn't (as expected) get any work done, instead going out to dinner and then going and watching some dvds with lug folk. Got in late, went to bed, woke up late on Saturday. I mostly spent Saturday avoiding working on my Fantasy paper, but in doing so I got a lot of other smaller things done which are due this week. Today was largely spent doing the same, but I did end up making some good progress this evening on the paper. Not as much as I would have liked, but I think I've started to get the groove for how the paper will flow in place, so I can write more fluidly tomorrow. We'll see. The key is to use enough quotes from my source material to take up a lot of space 🙂

But now, to sneep.

I should be asleep by now. Not going to want to go to numerical analysis in the morning, but I should.

And I probably should have done more on my fantasy paper but at least I've done some of the background reading bits and have a good idea of what my topic is and how the paper will flow. Now I just have to write it.

But, tomorrow (/today) is Friday which is the evening I'm not doing work this weekend and am going to relax somewhat… if I get through next week, the worst really should be over. Next semester should be “better”, but I think I've said that every semester and not really had it be the case thus far 🙂

Well, Red Hat Linux 7.1 was released, so I was able to get the Realm Kit out. That's one thing down, only a lot minus one more to do. Only 2.5 more weeks of classes, but I've got a lot to do in that time, much of which I really don't want to have to do. Not only do I have all of the end-of-semester crap due in the classes, but I also need to get some stuff written up since I'm not going to be working on campus this summer.

Maybe in the fall I'll actually be able to find more time to read for fun. I find that to be very relaxing but haven't really been able to find the time to do it this semester 🙁

I think it's following me around. First yesterday at work. Now I come home and the a/c is out here. How are you supposed to get any work done when it's warmer inside than outside?

Oh well, now to try to sleep in this sauna. Ick.
