First day in Ottawa comes to a close. Didn't really have any problems with the flight, although it was on some little dinky propeller plane instead of a jet… and I thought that the planes that I end up flying on between Boston and RDU were small…

Anyway, made it up here, customs wasn't bad even if the line at first looked long. Took the hotel shuttle and made it to the airport where I started running into people. Checked in at both the hotel and the conference, then found some folks to head to dinner. Dinner was pretty good, then basically more wandering around and popping into the unofficial bar party for the night. Eventually split from there to a different place (which had cheese!) and then back to the hotel for more talking and such fun.

Thus far, good to see people I haven't seen in a while. Tomorrow, the conference starts in earnest with what appears to be a pretty good selection of talks. Hardest thing will be figuring out which talks to go to as most of them look fairly solid.

But for now, a little bit of reading and then probably trying to get to bed so that I can wake up in the morning.
