A week of vacation

Just got back from a week of vacation and relaxing and it was actually pretty nice. The primary reason was for my sister's wedding on Thursday, but we spent some extra time at the beach and then hanging out with friends in Raleigh.

Flew down to Raleigh last Sunday, rented a car and drove out to Nags Head. US 64 is actually pretty nice now, large chunks are 70 mph and we made pretty good time. Got to the beach house and had a great dinner. Spent most of the week between doing some site seeing, biking along the ocean road (rented a reasonable road bike from one of the bike shops in Kill Devil Hills), beaching, at the pool and reading. And ate like a king — my now brother in law is in the restaurant business and is a quite good cook.

Wedding on Thursday was nice. Right on the beach and shockingly good weather for it. Not too warm, a tiny bit overcast to cut down on the glare from the sun, but no rain. No real problems to speak of either.

Then on Friday, we went to the Wright Brothers Memorial and then headed back towards Raleigh. Spent the weekend hanging out with folks there and continuing to eat well. Then, flew back last night.

Today, started on catching up with email. I avoided reading mail or doing anything work or Fedora related while I was gone, so there's quite a bit to catch up on. So if you haven't gotten a reply for me, hang in there… I'll finish catching up within the next couple of days.
