		<description>Honestly, the main reason is timing.  With the shortened Fedora 12 cycle, all the changes would have to be done in about a month.  The grub changes might be doable in that timeframe, but some of the other pieces (changes to anaconda, the kernel updating path, etc) needing to be done would really mean pushing it time-wise.  Especially as we&#039;re going to have plenty of other turmoil in the early boot arena with the move to dracut!</description>

Ubuntu just switched over to grub2 for their 9.10 release which is earlier than F12. It makes me wonder if their use cases are different than Fedora by your thoughts. It would be nice to get all of that worked out for inclusion into both distros for the fall.
